PERSONAL WATERCRAFT BUYING GUIDE

Which jet ski should you choose?

Which jet ski should you choose?

When choosing a personal watercraft, compare engine power, passenger capacity, weight and dimensions. Lighter models can be easier to transport, while larger PWCs often provide more space for passengers and equipment.

Engine, fuel and engine hours

Engine power affects performance, while fuel or energy type influences how the craft is used and its running costs. For a used PWC, engine hours, fuel capacity and service history are also important points to compare.

Hull construction and materials

Hull construction affects weight, durability and handling on the water. Listings may include hulls made from GRP/FRP, SMC composites, Polytec thermoplastic and lightweight NanoXcel materials.

What to check before buying

Inspect the hull, propulsion system, steering components, seating and equipment before buying. For a used craft, also review engine hours, service documentation, included equipment and the condition of any trailer supplied with the PWC.
